Carbon is Money ? CO2e is Money ?

Yes.
Since 2005, the beginning of the Kyoto Protocol, you just put a windturbine, solar technology on your roof or just any similar CO2e-reducing technology and you'll be generating CO2e-Certificates or an equivalent of them. For every ton of CO2e that you help to prevent to escape into the atmosphere or every ton of CO2e you help to take out from the atmosphere, you can get it in cash: first you'll be able to obtain the CO2e-Certificate which will be transferred to you to your electronic CO2e-Certificate account (that you have to open, just like your bank account) and then you can either use them as a currency or sell them to a Government or its 40% largest CO2e-Emitting companies from non-sustainably developed countries that HAVE to buy them. These latter have to present a quota of CO2e-Certificates every year to the department of the United Nations = UNFCCC or its representative organisation in the country to whom it has delegated its power to.
The price of these CO2e-Certificates started in 2005 at 5€, soon they went up to 10€ (100% profit for the green guys that were quick), then it went to 15€ (200%) and the demand for them will rise that much that they are expected to rise to some 40-50€/CO2e-Certificate since the USA and other nations are coming under the Kyoto Protocol, and more and more sectors are being added.
In 2008, the turnover - just for the CO2e-Certificates - was about 100 billion € and it is expected to rise to 3.000 billion € by 2020.

How did I become a "Kyoto Protocol Consultant"?

I've always been active in Youth Nature Organisations like Youth Environment Europe / Natuur 2000 / JNM". And in the 1980-ies there was the Acid Rain destroying all forests in Europe and beyond, then the hole in the Ozone Layer... and it was from then on that these debates had started on how to bring "nature" into the economic decision making process. So when then all of a sudden in 2005, the Kyoto Protocol and the CO2e-certificates came into force, I was very quick and understanding the logic.

I started off with a cycle - that never ended since - of intro lectures and workshops on "How to increase welfare, create local jobs, attract financiers, bring additional return on investment, develop business and M&A opportunities, eco-innovations, offering additional Risk Reduction and Roi thanks to the generation and sale of CO2e-certificates under the "Kyoto Protocol".

As such I find myself on the crossroad between all parties involved: governments and their 40% largest CO2e-emitting companies that HAVE TO BUY these CO2e-Certificates, governments and companies that generate the CO2e-Certificates, financiers, investors, speculators, technology providers, project developers, inventors, policy makers, politicians, NGO's, GO's, etc.

As you can see from my profile, I'm quite a multi-disciplinary type of person and that's also helping a lot to build "bridges" between all these different players. Every group has its own strengths and weaknesses, jargon .. and if you speak it .. people from those groups give you quicker their confidence... they need each other to get to the CO2e-Certificates anyhow. So that's a major part of my role: translating from one community to the other, i.e. the engineering commmunity to the financiers community to the eco-innovators, to the managers, north to south and back, even artists ! :)

20-20-20, Please spread the correct : 20-20-20+2

You probably know that last november-december 2008, there was a big conference in Poznan where all EU stakeholders gathered to get their act together on the Emission Trading for the post 2012.
And probably you heard speaking of "20-20-20", referring to -20% CO2e-emissions by 2020 and 20% Renewable Power.
I have a comment to that because that equation is not complete. It is actually like this:
20-20-20-0: the zero referring that with those measures humanity can reach a 0°C Global Warming again some generations later. We have passed that point-of-no-return... it's not possible anymore. Worse:
20-20-20-2: -20% CO2e by 2020 to reach a Global Peak temperature a decade or so later, after which the temperature would drop to a pre-Global Climate Destabilisation situation - sorry - "manageable" Global Climate Destabilisation for rich developed states. Manageable means that about 1 billion of the poorest people and nations will simply die. Euphemistically during what's called "Climate Change Adaptation": you can choose how you die - too much water, too little water, spreads of deseases like malaria because their carriers can all of a sudden survive where they couldn't survive up to now due to too low temperateres e.g., you can also choose to die from a hurricane or a tyfoon, or do you please to die in a forest fire, a landslide from the continuous bashing of the higher sea-levels on your shore line or ... you opt for a spectacular suffocation in an avalange or prefer the slow death in a suffocation of a sand-storm followed by no food, what's also very painfull and taking a long time: suffocation by drowning in a swollen rainfall river ... plenty to choose from. Wrong, it will be imposed on you, unless you choose to perish during one of the exodus flees of some of those 1 billion. You can always opt for a life of a pirate in a state that collapsed.

The truth: 20-20-20+2: amidst all the wining of the industry and political blabla, you can also listen to those that actually KNOW nature and climatology ... and then you find out following: With the measures taken now, we're not going to reach Global Peak Temperature by 2020 at all, we're going to bypass it ... get ready for +2°C = a Catastrophic Global Climate Destabilisation scenario we end up in.

Hi, since 2004, I presented myself on the market as a "Kyoto Protocol" Consultant and CO2e-Reducing Project Promotor.

Since it's such a "hot topic :) " and so few people understand what I do day in, day out. I've decided to give you a look over the shoulder via a Blog, Virtual Office, Slideshows, Movies, life Lectures & Workshops and more... untill you get inspired by it and we join hands.

It's a very fascinating, adventurous and exciting life with lot of green stuff in it and ... lots of money. Yep, green is big time money now ! Get used to it :) !
